Zuimaco
It is the year 3020, planet Earth has became a world of Mass Ocean. The people live in buildings which have giant steal legs, and the people travel around in aircrafts. All the forests have been cut down and the lands have been drained of oil. The planet that was once beautiful is now suffering for its survival. The people have become desperate and greedy. Scientists are being sent to planets to find a new home, and the poor are being sent along to mine looking for riches to secure their families future.
The people of the moon Zuimaco watch as these big metal ships come down to them. Watching as the smoke fills the atmosphere and the animals flee away. The miners and scientist de-board the ships and the Zuimaco people hurry back to the tribe leader to report the news of these strange people walking around. The Zuimaco people are a peaceful race, who lives one with the forest they call home. Zuimaco has five hours of sunlight, because of this the plants, animals and people have some sort of bioluminescence within them.
This makes the place very beautiful with blue and green glows as far as the eye can see. The people of the Zuimaco sleep through the sunlight hours as it is safer for them to be up and about during the moonlight hours. The bioluminescence means they can see much more during the moonlight hours then the sunlight hours. The bioluminescence shows all, but in the sunlight hours threats can hide in the foliage.
The scientists and the miners travel around in the sunlight hour’s which is a treat to the Zuimaco people. The chief of the Ground tribe people has ordered his eldest daughter to follow the strange people through the forest from the trees, to learn their ways.
As she watched the miners dig up their lands and dirty their waters, she knew they needed to be stopped. They were hurting the Zuimaco’s way of life, scaring the animals and destroying the plants. The scientists weren’t as destructive but they were making creatures ill. They brought illness from there planet which the life on the Zuimaco haven’t experience before. This was killing people and animals as they had no natural medicines for these illnesses.
The Ground tribe looked at their spiritual leader for a path to follow. The Ground tribes spiritual leader has to go to the White Mountain to beg for guidance. With the forest being so dangerous with the miners and Scientists about, the spiritual leader has to travel with the help of the chief’s daughter and some warriors.
Along the way to the White Mountain they come across a large cat like animal called the Yamuy. The Yamuy is a sacred animal to the Zuimaco people, so it hurt them deeply to see something so precious to them injured. The Yamuy had been shot by a miner and as the Zuimaco people prayed for its spirit they new danger was ahead. Feared for what damage these strange people could do to them. They took to the tree’s knowing that the strange people stay on the ground.
As they travel into the forest they noticed the beautiful glows of the trees are dimming. As they get closer to the darkness they notice the humidity dropping. Then to their shock they stumble onto an area of mass deforestation. The miners had been chopping them down in their search for riches. The Ground tribe’s spiritual leader cried in pain as she could feel the pain of the forest. The Ground tribe knew they had to do something to stop these strange people before the forest become unbalance and people, animals and plants die. They fear for the spirit of their lands, as they believe the spirit looks after all. Without the spirits protection they don’t know what will happen.
Two of the Ground tribe’s warriors are sent back to the chief to tell him what they has stumbled upon. The Ground tribe’s Spiritual leader, chief’s daughter and the warriors carried on towards the White Mountain. The closer they get to the White Mountain the more dangerous the forest is. There are large dog like animals called Ao’n in the forest close to the White Mountain. It will be the warrior’s job to defend the spiritual leader from these Ao’ns. Ao’ns are like the king of the forest, they do not fear anything and will kill anyone or thing in their path.
As the warriors take it in turns keeping a watch during the sunlight hours, one witnesses a scientist putting a Ao’n to sleep and dragging it back to their tent. This puts fear into the warrior, if they could do this to a powerful Ao’n what could they do to them? The warrior woke up the rest of them and spoke of what he had seen. The ground tribe spiritual leader said they have evil power, and that they needed to get to the White Mountain quicker.
They decided to travel through the rest of the rest of the sunlight hours as well as the moonlight hours. They have to be very careful when travelling though the trees during the sunlight hours as there are many things that can hurt them which they won’t see as easily without the glowing indicators.
As they make their way through the forest they disturb a large monkey like animal called an Agucat. These Agucats aren’t meat eaters but they are violent as they worry for their babies safety. The Ground tribe’s people with the spiritual leader have to make their way to the forest floor for their safety and the Agucat safety.
As they reach the forest floor they come across a camp site for the scientists. They approach the site carefully as they knew how dangerous the strange people are. They looked into the tents of the strange people and find animals trapped, cuttings of plants and lots of things they have never seen before. The Grounds tribes chiefs daughter wanted to free the animals but the spiritual leader told her not to as it would draw the strange people to them, which could mean they would be trapped like the poor animals.
As much as they didn’t want to they continued their travel to the White Mountain which wasn’t far away now. As they got away from the camp they noticed animals that would normally be on the White Mountain in the trees in the forest. This was a sign to the Ground tribe spiritual leader and she knew there was danger near. They moved back up the trees where they will be able to see what the danger was. The Ground tribe spiritual leader kept crying out in pain, as she could now feel the Whites Mountains spirit now that they were closer to it. This scared them all, what could possibly hurt something as strong as the mountain. As they got higher they could smell smoke in the air, and the leaves of the trees had a coating of white powder on them. They moved nervously closer to the White Mountain. When they reached the top of the trees she could see the strange people in machines making holes in the White Mountain. Knowing that the Grounds tribe spiritual leader couldn’t go up to the White Mountain and they the spirit of the White Mountain is in pain, they decided they need to go back to the tribe and get help to save the spirit of the White Mountain.
Large bird like animals called Guacamayo, that would normally be on the mountain where in the trees. The spirirt of the Guacamayo’s also wanted the White Mountain spirit to be saved so he Ground tribes spiritual leader was able to ask the Guacamayo’s for help. The ground tribes got onto the Guacamayo’s and flew back to the Ground tribe lands.
Arriving back on these large sacred birds the chief of the Ground tribe knew that there was more bad news to come. After ordering his warriors to get ready for war, he took his daughter and the spiritual leader into the longhouse to see what needed to be done. Knowing that they didn’t have the strength alone, to destroy something that can hurt a strong powerful mountain. The spiritual leader told the chief that they need help from all the other tribes, so that many spiritual leaders can pray for the spirit of the forest and many warriors can defend the spirit of the forest and White Mountain.
Knowing the most of these strange people, the chief’s daughter offered to go to the other tribes to ask for help. The chief didn’t want evil things to happen to his daughter so he demanded that the best warrior was to go with her.
After a good rest and a meal the two get ready for their long journey ahead of them. The first tribe on their journey lived high up in the trees. The tribe is the Butterfly tribe, as the tribe use large butterfly like animals called Tanama, to get around and to defend their lands. The warriors of the Butterfly tribe use arrows as a weapon, so the Ground tribe’s daughter and the warrior have to be careful that these Butterfly warriors didn’t see them, as it would be hard to avoid arrows coming from above.
Sneaking around in the trees and hiding behind beautiful bright air plants they got close to the Butterfly’s tribe home. After making an offering to the Butterfly tribe they were taken in to talk to their tribe chief. The shocking story of the strange people destroying the White Mountain touched the chief, and he took them to see the illnesses that the strange people had put on the women of his tribe. The Ground tribe daughter and warrior where devastated at the sight, and couldn’t believe how much damage the strange people could produce. They went on to the warriors of the butterfly tribe and said “Guazabra tanama ocama-quay gua’rico’guaki’a bara anki ar’a Yuke’io han”. The Butterfly warriors agreed, all apart from two flew to the Ground tribes land. The other two went with the Ground tribe’s daughter and warrior to the other tribes.
They got on these large elegant Tanama’s and flew over the giant blue river where on the other side were the River tribe. The tribe which rode large turtle like animals called Jicotea, which have shells that arrows cannot penetrate. This is quite a graceful tribe like the giant Jicotea, but after hearing about the strange people they agreed to help with the war.
They got their hunting spears ready and went to the Ground tribes lands. The blue river looked beautiful and powerful with the glowing River tribe travelling through it on their Jicotea’s.
The next tribe on the journey was a scary one for the Butterfly warriors and the ground tribes daughter as it is the Ao’n tribe. The only tribe which the Ao’n get along with. The Butterfly warriors took them up high so that when they approached the tribes land they didn’t have to go through the Ao’ns. The A’on tribe is a strong tribe who saw fighting as an honour so they accepted helping not only for the spirit of the forest but also for the hope of their warriors having an honourable death.
With the tribes from every corner joined together the Ground tribes daughter and the warrior went back to her lands. When she got back all the tribes held a ceremonial evening. Where the women dance, and the warriors get painted in their war colours. Songs are sung and music is played. This is the moment for greatness for them with all the tribes brought together to save the forest. Though greatness isn’t in the minds of the spiritual leaders and they all chant for help of the forest. Hoping that the strong animals among the forest will help them, in the fight to save their forest.
After a good long sleep the warriors get ready. The Tanama’s take to the air, the Jicotea’s take to the front on the ground followed by the Ao’ns and the Ground tribe. They walk through the forest and as they do so the ground shakes. The deeper they get into the forest they notice the prayers of the spiritual leader come true as wild Ao’ns joins them. The Agucats also join swinging through the trees towards the White Mountain. All the tribe’s animals call though the forest, where other animal call back. This fight has become a mass forest fight defending their lands from destruction.
The scientists and miners can see a mass wall of light in the distance coming towards them. The scientist run away feared for their safety whiles the miners got into their machines and others got their guns. These desperate greedy men weren’t about to let their gems go because of some ‘savages’. Some of these miners weren’t old enough to be called men, and they were so scared that some of them wet themselves. Even though the place they call Earth isn’t a pretty place to live in they weren’t prepared for war.
The Butterfly warriors on flew a head of the warriors on the ground so that the Tanama’s could drop bioluminescence bombs on the miners. This was important as it makes the miners glow and stand out to the warriors on the ground, but as the miners noticed them, they pulled their guns upon them. Many Butterfly warriors’ died, but their death meant the distraction of the miners machines, this giving a chance for the warriors on the floor and the forest animals to kill the miners who aren’t in machines and are just gunmen. The guns killed alot of the animals and tribes people that had ran ahead of the Jicotea’s, but when the Jocotea’s got their the bullets just bounced off their shells and the warriors spears killed the gun men. With many machines lined up strong the tribes people didn’t know what to do. They knew their arrows weren’t strong enough and their spears weren’t sharpe enough. Then from behind them a great shake in the ground and a load of wild Jicotea’s came ripping though. They turned all the machines upside down and stamped them into a million pieces, as the miners got out of the machines for their dear lives.
This gave the Ground tribe warriors a chance to shine. They used their strength and flexibility to outsmart and kill the miners. All the strange people who were fighting where killed. The White Mountain was saved, but the tribe’s people knew it wasn’t over yet. As the strange people who has been making them ill and had been trapping their animals where still out there. The Butterfly warriors flew across the forest to find these strange people. The strange people where getting into their big metal ship and where leaving. They had realised there isn’t room for them to live here and call it home. As the other warriors look at the skies waiting for the butterfly warriors, they see the strange people’s ship and cheer in happiness. Knowing that they can now restore the forest back to the way it was and the spirit can now be free from its pain.
All the tribe people went back to the Grounds tribe land where there is another ceremony celebrating the strange people leaving. The spiritual leaders all go to the battle site where they pray for all the living spirits that have gone and pay respect to all the new spirits of the dead. When they get back to the tribe land they are now ease at mind, that everything is now how it is meant to be again. Now happy they join in with the ceremonial dances.
